Cline is an open-source coding agent for the desktop, code editors, the terminal and other products. It explores a codebase, proposes a plan, then makes coordinated multi-file edits and runs commands, reacting to test, server and deploy output as it appears.

Cline runs as a desktop app, as an extension for VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf and JetBrains, and as a CLI and SDK via npm. It is free for individual developers, who pay only for model inference with their own keys or the Cline provider. Enterprise adds the JetBrains extension, SSO, role-based access, audit logs and an SLA.
