Jules
Google's asynchronous coding agent that clones your GitHub repo to a cloud VM, makes changes and opens a pull request
Jules is an autonomous coding agent from Google for tasks developers would rather not do, such as bug fixes, version bumps, tests and feature work. It clones the selected GitHub repository into a cloud virtual machine, proposes a plan for approval, makes the changes and verifies that they work.
Key features:
- Plans each task with Gemini models and waits for approval before editing.
- Runs existing tests or writes new ones.
- Shows a diff for review, then creates a branch and pull request.
- Takes tasks from GitHub issues tagged with a jules label.
- Works from a CLI or through an API for custom workflows.
Jules works with GitHub repositories and runs in Google's cloud. The free tier allows 15 tasks a day with 3 concurrent tasks. Google AI Pro raises that to 100 daily tasks and 15 concurrent tasks with higher access to the latest models, and Google AI Ultra allows 300 tasks a day.
