Kiro
Agentic IDE and CLI from AWS that turns prompts into specs, then plans and implements the code with parallel agents
Kiro is an agentic development environment from AWS. Developers describe a feature in natural language, and Kiro turns it into an executable spec with requirements and tasks, then works through them by reading the workspace, writing code and running commands while the developer steers.
Key features:
- Spec-driven development from natural-language prompts.
- Correctness validation to find bugs that unit tests miss.
- Parallel agents that learn from each session, plus a Crew installer.
- Hooks, steering files, custom agents and MCP servers.
- A cloud mode (preview) that syncs local agent configuration.
- An Auto agent that mixes models, with Claude Sonnet and Opus available.
Kiro is available as an IDE and a CLI installed with a one-line script. The free tier includes 50 credits with open-weight models and Claude Sonnet 4.5. Pro is $20 per user per month for 1,000 credits, with Pro+ ($40), Pro Max ($100) and Power ($200) tiers and add-on credits at $0.04 each. Enterprise adds SSO, centralized billing and usage analytics, and a GovCloud version is offered.
