Playwright MCP
Microsoft's MCP server that lets agents drive a real browser through Playwright using accessibility snapshots
Playwright MCP is an open-source Model Context Protocol server from Microsoft that gives AI agents browser automation through Playwright. Agents can navigate, click, type, fill forms and read content in a real browser for web tasks, testing and debugging from inside a coding assistant.
Key features:
- Drive Chromium, Firefox or WebKit through Playwright.
- Work from structured accessibility snapshots of the page instead of screenshots and vision models.
- Navigate pages, click, type and fill forms deterministically.
- Take screenshots, read console messages and inspect network requests.
- Run locally with npx @playwright/mcp@latest or in Docker.
The repository has setup instructions for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Copilot CLI, Cursor, Cline, Gemini CLI, Goose, LM Studio and other MCP clients. Playwright MCP is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license, published on GitHub and npm.
